The Information Technology Centre of Hanwella Rajasinghe Central College, which was damaged by a recent disaster, was restored to normal within two days and officially handed back to students on 22nd of December.

A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and a delegation of UNICEF representatives was held on December 20 at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Measures Underway to Hold Provincial Council Elections at the Earliest Possible Time

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that steps are being taken to abolish the Executive Presidency and establish a parliamentary system of government, including the appointment of a President without executive powers. Noritake Company Limited of Japan has donated Rs. 20 million to the Government’s disaster relief programme.

An official meeting was held between Hon. Wang Dongming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China, and Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya on 17 December at the Parliament of Sri Lanka.

A meeting was held between the officials of the Government Translators’ Service Union and the Prime Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, at the Prime Minister’s Office on December 16, to discuss the issues faced by the officers of the Government Translators’ Service.

Cabinet approval has been granted to enter into the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between universities in Sri Lanka and foreign universities.

Accordingly, at the Cabinet meeting held on 15th of December, the approval was granted based on a proposal submitted by the.
